Economic Growth & Small Business Opportunity

Rita Days knows that a strong economy begins at the local level, and small businesses are the backbone of our community. In her role on the St. Louis County Council, Rita has championed policies that attract new investment, support entrepreneurs, and help local businesses grow and thrive.

She has fought for fair access to county contracts for minority- and women-owned businesses, recognizing that economic opportunity must be open to everyone, not just a few. Rita has also supported infrastructure improvements and revitalization efforts that make our district a place where businesses want to set up shop, hire local workers, and give back to the community.

At the same time, Rita knows that real economic growth comes when residents have good-paying jobs and the skills to compete in today’s marketplace. That’s why she advocates for workforce development programs, job training initiatives, and partnerships with local schools and colleges to prepare workers for high-demand careers.

For Rita, economic development isn’t just about numbers—it’s about building a district where families can succeed, businesses can flourish, and future generations have the opportunities they deserve.

Rita’s Plan Going Forward:

Expand Small Business Grants & Resources: Help local entrepreneurs start, scale, and sustain their businesses.

Create a District Business Roundtable: Bring together business owners, educators, and community leaders to identify growth opportunities and remove barriers.

Promote Innovation Hubs & Incubators: Support spaces for startups and emerging businesses to access funding, training, and mentorship.

Strengthen Workforce Development: Partner with schools, colleges, and employers to create career pathways in technology, healthcare, and other high-demand fields.

Leverage County & State Incentives: Attract new industries while ensuring local hiring and investment in our neighborhoods.
