I honestly believe that there is no higher honor than the distinction of serving at the trust and will of those who elected you. The best way to respect that sacred honor is to follow the rules and never abdicate the responsibilities instilled in your position(s). Our earliest civics lessons taught us that our democratic form of government created a power sharing system of co-equals or a check and balance system to protect our republic. 

As the proud representative of St. Louis County’s 1st District and Chair of the Council, I promise that I will serve with honesty and respect and protect the interest of our communities. I will also demand accountability, transparency, and from those who have influence over our district. That is why you elected me to this office. I promise you, I will uphold your trust, values and your expectations.
